The number of reported COVID-19 deaths in Malaysia has now gone to 17
This comes after Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah announced today, 25 March, that a 66-year-old man died from the virus that causes COVID-19.
“The 17th death was a 66-year-old Malaysian citizen who has a history of several chronic diseases,” he said, adding that the victim was admitted to Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital in Muar on 20 March.
The man’s condition was critical when he was admitted
According to Dr Noor Hisham, his condition was critical when he arrived at the Emergency Department and needed breathing assistance the same day.
“He was positively diagnosed with COVID-19 on 21 March. His health deteriorated day by day and he passed away at 4.10am, 25 March,” the Health D-G added.
