SALEM, Va. (WDBJ7) — No one was hurt in a structure fire in Salem Thursday.
The Salem Fire & EMS Department responded to the fire at the Burger King on West Main Street around 4:05 p.m.
Firefighters found heavy fire coming from an exhaust vent and evacuated the building.
The first units arrived within two minutes of receiving the call. They determined the fire was in the exhaust duct work of one of the broilers.
The fire was contained and did not spread to the rest of the building.
The Salem Fire Marshal’s Office determined the fire to be an accident and estimates $30,000 in damage.
