“With a heavy heart, and as advised by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, I, Maszlee Malik, resign from my position as Minister of Education to the Prime Minister effective 3 January,” Dr Maszlee said at a special press conference in Putrajaya on Thursday, 2 January.
Dr Mahathir, who accepted Dr Maszlee’s resignation letter, thanked him for his service as a Cabinet member. He also added that Dr Maszlee’s replacement will be announced at a later date.
